About Blacktail
I grew up in a wildlife family. My dad was a game warden for the Oregon State Police, so much of my time was spent outdoors chasing animals with him. I continued my love of animals at Oregon State University, where I earned a degree in Fisheries and Wildlife Science in 2004. From there I enjoyed a career in aviation and spent 10 years as a helicopter pilot. That is really where my love of photography began. From living on oil platforms in the Gulf of Mexico, to flying over the Cascade mountain range, there is no shortage of amazing scenery to photograph. The passion has continued to grow into a budding obsession now. And I have been fortunate enough to combine my core love of wildlife with my second love of photography.
